CLASSROOM EXPECTATIONS
1. Be prepared for class. When the bell rings, have the following: a. Writing utensil—pencil or pen with blue or black ink only. Other colors of ink WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED! b. Paper – either spiral notebook or loose-leaf paper in a binder. c. Assigned texts – Know what you need to bring and have it with you.
2. Be on time. Be in your seat when the bell rings.
3. No food or drinks allowed in the room. Gum will be allowed until I see it, hear it, have to pick up wrappers, or have it ground into the carpet.
4. No bathroom breaks. Go before class or hold it.
5. Inappropriate language will not be tolerated. Penalty: either 9th Hour or office depending on severity and number of offenses
6. Classroom disruptions receive one warning. If it continues, I will either assign 9th Hour or send to the office.
7. A 9th Hour is made up after school and will last approximately 45 minutes. If you do not show up, the time is doubled. If you do not show up again, it is sent to the office.
8. Assignments are due at the beginning of class on the day they are due. The penalties for late papers are as follows: 1 day late-----------10% off 2 days late----------50% off 3 days late----------0% final grade
9. No throwing of objects in the classroom. This means no tossing something to your friend across the room, and no basketball with the trash can.
10. Cheating or plagiarism on papers will receive a ZERO. This applies to all parties involved in the incident (copy-er and copy-ee).
11. One book report is required each nine weeks.
12. Always have something extra to work on (a book to read or homework) in case we finish early.
