The board shall purchase a blanket or surety bond for school employees. The amount of the bond shall be determined by the board.

A surety bond in the amount of $50,000 is required for the treasurer, $5,000 each for the clerk and superintendent. A blanket bond may be purchased by the board for district employees as follows:

Building principals $5,000

Building secretary(s) $5,000

Other employees as the board may direct
