Saturday, February 3rd there were 15 Washington County 5th through 8th grade students who attended Holton Honor Band all day. Their day started with rehearsals at 9:00 a.m., through 2:00 p.m. Fortunately, they did get to take a break for lunch! At 2:30 p.m. the students put on an amazing performance for their parents and the community to show what they had learned throughout the day. There were 5 different bands and each band had a different colored T-shirt. We had 5 students who were not able to go, mostly due to illnesses. The White Band (5th Grade) consisted of 2 Washington students. They were Wisteria Milam-Bells/Percussion, and Jonah Yungeberg-Trumpet. The Red Band (6th Grade) had Kaylee Dayhuff-French Horn, Nikki Colgrove-Flute, Jude Zabokrtsky-Trumpet, Mario Lopez-Baez--Baritone. The Purple Band (6th Grade) also had 4 students, Kourtney Aittan-Trombone, Colten Meadows-Percussion, Ryan Ditmars-Tuba, and Cecelia O’Rourke-Clarinet. The Blue Band (7th Grade) had 2 of our students, Seraphina Scheitler-Saxophone and Oriana Cardenas-Eppens–Percussion. Finally, in the Gold Band (8th Grade) we had Adelyn Oakes-Clarinet, Hayden Lohse-Baritone Saxophone, and Charlie Yungeberg-Trumpet. We also had several sponsors/helpers that went along. Kelly Annunziato and Makayla Herrs helped students learn their parts in certain bands and Brandis Milam helped hand out T-shirts and lunch tickets along with many other tasks. Their help was greatly appreciated. It was a great learning day and the students all brought home a lot of memories. Mrs. Heuer–Band Director
