In July, the USD 108 Washington County Schools' football field lights were struck by lightning ....among other things. Today the new LED football lights are being installed.

Varsity wins in two against Frankfort and JV wins in two against Onaga.
Varsity volleyball lost to Centralia in 3 tough sets. JV beat Frankfort in two sets.

Thanks to KDHE's Waste Tire Grant program and the Larry Ouellette Memorial, WCES was able to get started on an outdoor learning area. Over the summer we tore out dying bushes, leveled the ground, installed landscape cover and edging, and put in recycled tire rubber mulch. Using recycled tires for the mulch helps to keep tires from filling up landfills.

Students engage in relationship building during TigerTime and throughout the day. September 5-11 is National Suicide Prevention Week with World Suicide Prevention Day on the 10th. Bringing awareness and support to our students!
