EARLY CHILDHOOD CHILD FIND SCREENINGS 2020-2021 The Learning Cooperative of North Central Kansas will be conducting child find screenings for children ages 3-5 within the cooperative catchment area throughout the year to screen for potential delays in the areas of cognition, communication, fine/gross motor, and social skills. Two options are available for screenings offered by our staff: Option #1 – Children attending a school district preschool program The Learning Cooperative of North Central Kansas will be conducting global screenings for all students attending a school district preschool in the Washington County School District on the following date: October 7th, 2020 These screenings will be conducted during the preschool day and if the child is currently enrolled in the district preschool no appointment will be necessary. Option #2 – Children not attending a school district preschool program If your child is experiencing difficulty in the developmental areas of hearing and vision, communication, gross and or fine motor, self-help, social-emotional, or cognitive skills, you may request a screening appointment at anytime by calling the LCNCK office at (785) 243-3294. **Screenings on days that school has been cancelled due to weather or not being in session for any reason, will be rescheduled** ** If your child is birth to age 3 and you would like your child screened please contact OCCK at (785) 243-1977 **

Enrollment is tomorrow! We will be in the elementary gym from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Please have your paperwork filled out. We are asking for only one adult (no children) per family to attend. Please wear a mask or one will be provided for you. We look forward to seeing you.

The Learning Cooperative of North Central Kansas has an opening for a full time Special Education Paraeducator at Washington County Elementary School to work with certified staff to educate children. Enrollment for Preschool thru 12th grade will be August 5th from 7 am to 7 pm in the West Elementary Gym. Entry will be only at west elementary doors. Enrollment packets will be sent in the mail by July 29th if you don’t have the packets by August 3rd please let us know. We are asking that all the paperwork be filled out before you come to enrollment. One person per family and masks are required. If you don’t have a mask one will be provided and temperature checks will be done. We are requesting no students attend enrollment and there will be no schedule changes completed at this time. If you need to make changes to your schedule you will need to make an appointment with Mrs. Goeckel. Social distancing is requested and attached is a map to show how enrollment will be set up.

USD 108 Families, I know you are all anxiously awaiting news on what our schools will look like come August 19. Rest assured, we have been planning for several weeks and we will have our final plan out on Monday, July 27. We know this has been a stressful time and the “not knowing how things will look” adds to the stress. We miss your kids and we miss school! WCHS Class of 2020 Graduation Reminder Saturday, July 18, 2020 2:00PM WCHS Gym Doors Open at 12:30PM Use East HS Entrance. Public will be screened and masks are required. We will have available masks at the entrance. CONGRATULATIONS CLASS OF 2020!

Our USD 108 Reopening Schools committee has been working hard to provide guidelines to our own reopening schools. We had planned to start school on August 19, 2020 as our calendar indicated. Today, Governor Kelly, announced she will be issuing an Executive Order on Monday, July 20th that will delay the start of school until Wednesday, September 9 This means USD 108's first day with students will be on Wednesday, September 9th. Our administration and our committee were unaware of the plan to delay school until the news conference this afternoon. We will continue to move forward with making plans and preparing for our students to return to school.
