July 1-July 7, 2019 is the KSHSAA summer moratorium. There shall be NO school related athletic activities.

Clay Center Summer League GIRLS Basketball is over for the season. The WCHS Varsity and JV teams both played in the Championships. The JV Team won 1st by beating Clay Center 22-20! The Varsity Team earned 2nd place losing to Clay Center. Go-o-o-o TIGERS!!

The DARE Royals trip has changed again due to a conflict for many students. The NEW date is Tuesday, July 30th. Departure time will be at 1:30 p.m. from the elementary school. You must call the Washington County Sheriff's Office by July 15th at 785-325-2293 to reserve a ticket for your child, even if you called for the previous scheduled game.

From concept to reality…The Infinity Project will debut Fall 2019!
USD 108 has been selected to be a 21st Century Community Learning Center. The 5-yr $450,000 grant funds the program, The Infinity Project, which will provide exciting development opportunities for JH/HS students.


The 5th Grade DARE Royals trip has been rescheduled for July 12th. The itinerary has stayed the same. This means departure will be at 1:30 p.m. from the school. Please call the Washington County Sheriff's Office if your child plans to go (785-325-2293 ext. 2).

ALL WC JH & HS students who will participate in PE classes or any any athletic practices/events (including cheer and dance) during the 19-20 school year need to have a KSHSAA physical form and Concussion form filled out BEFORE participation.

Recently graduated WCHS senior Wyatt Bentz was recognized by the USDC108 board of education for his state track accomplishments at the June 10 BOE meeting. Congratulations!


The HS & Elem gym floors & the HS stage were recently redone. The floors were sanded down then new gym coat and paint jobs were applied. This will prolong the life of our gym floors an gives us a beautiful new surface to be enjoy.



Head lice don't take summer off! Camps and sleepovers increase the chances of head lice. Specifically, DIRECT head to head contact increases head lice. Encourage your children to wear their hair up, ponytails, braids, etc. As an added precaution, buy your child their own ball helmet. Check your child's head at least once a week. Please read the following article from the American Academy of Pediatrics. Be responsible, notify any contacts your child has had.
